In 2023 & 2024, I had the honor of being Sierra DeMulder's Teaching Assistant in her course Turn the Crystal, Shine the Light: Writing a Themed Collection. I was a student in this workshop the first time she taught it and it remains one of my favorite poetry spaces since.

Turn the Crystal is a six-week poetry intensive. Comprised of weekly readings, discussions, prompts, and community feedback, this generative course explores how to effectively write about one reoccurring topic or theme from new, innovative entry points and perspectives. Upon completion, each writer will have developed the foundations of their own themed collection.
