Sensory: 6 Week Meditation & Writing Circle

Writer’s block? We don’t even know her…When you’re tapped into the world around and within you, the images, metaphors, insights, emotions and words flow freely.

You’ve been in that expansive state before in nature, in love, or when the goddess of creativity took control of your mind for a bit.

  • How do you turn on the “writing channel” to “hear” your creative voice?

  • How do you get into a creative, non-judgmental state at will?

  • How do you observe, notice and translate your intuition and experiences?

  • How do you tune into your world as a practice or ritual of self expression?

How you take in the world—the things you tend to notice, what inspires or enrages you or breaks your heart, what you miss and why—are all unique pieces of information guiding you towards the stories you are uniquely meant to write.

Join certified intuitive, meditation guide and writer, Julia Lemke and poet and facilitator, Tristan Richards for a 6-week tour of the senses. In this space, we’ll invite the thinking mind to step to the side as we lean into our sensory and intuitive experiences.

This circle is all levels and open to all who love words. You do not need to have an existing meditation practice to join us.

Tuesdays, July 11 - August 15, 2023

6-8 pm CDT • Live via Zoom

  • Here’s the science:

Our brain can only process an incredibly tiny fraction of our sensory experience. Our conscious mind receives from the body what feels “loud” or sudden through our senses or emotions. When we rely on the automatic, we don’t get the nuance and big picture.

There are two important themes here:

    1. We can’t write about our experiences without our hearts and our physical bodies.

    2. We have to choose to navigate our emotional and sensory worlds to get the full story.

    Workshop Outline

    • Week 1: Intuition & Gut Feeling
