Tell me more!

After a fantastic first gathering in 2024, we're doing it again! Since 2022, over 100 poets have engaged in our 30-day writing community and other workshops. Camp Unfold is our first and only in-person experience. The retreat will be hosted at Simpson United Methodist Church in Pullman, Washington. It is only open to Unfold alumni (from any year, any number of workshops).

We will have workshops with structures that you are both familiar and not familiar with! We will also have time and space for community building outside of writing. Located in the Pacific Northwest, we will have ample opportunity for writing with and simply existing in nature.

This is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a new way, to grow as writers and as a community, and to have a safe space to learn and expand! We hope you’ll join us as we learn what it is to let courage unfold.

Theme: Let Courage Unfold

June 5-9, 2025 (+ optional June 4)

  • What am I called to write about at this particular time?

  • What does engaging in courageous storytelling look like?

  • How can I live a writing life without limits?

  • How can I help our community engage in collective courage?

These are some of the questions we will explore & invite ourselves into when we gather in Pullman in June. This theme emerged from the idea that in our world’s current landscape, telling stories through poetry (and other ways) is an act of bravery. One of our community’s strengths is holding each other as we wade through uncertain waters and make each other more courageous in our storytelling, as well as simply the way we live our lives.

Come to Camp Unfold and let your most authentic and courageous voice speak! We can’t wait to be brave with you.

Camp Unfold is only open to Unfold alumni (any year, including 2025).
